Terms

In order to change, you need to fully engage and participate in the therapeutic process. This will hopefully allow you to gain insight, acceptance and growing confidence, while developing strategies to deal with distress. This requires a certain level of commitment from you and this will be outlined to you within the contract and initial ‘assessment’ session, along with my commitment to you.

The initial assessment session will allow us the space to explore the contract (which I will send to you prior to the appointment), this outlines our commitment, boundaries and other important details. This will be an opportunity for you to raise any concerns and ask any questions about the contract and our work together. We will regularly review the therapy as your opinions and responses are considered essential throughout our journey together.

In this initial session we will also discuss what brought you to counselling and do an assessment to determine if we can work together and if so, then how to move forward? And what are your expectations, goals, hopes, concerns and fears?
